It operates through the following segments: Investment Holdings, Portfolio and Assets Management, Oil Palm Plantations, Beverage, Real Estate, Leisure, Oils and Fats, and Management Services. The Investment Holdings segment provides holding of strategic investment. The Portfolio and Assets Management segment includes investment and management of listed, private equity, fixed income, and unit trust investments. The Oil Palm Plantations segment produces and sells palm oil and palm kerneland fresh fruit bunches to the local and international market. The Beverage segment focuses on the production and sale of Beer, Import, and distribution of alcoholic beverages. The Real Estate segment offers office and warehouse premises for rent for commercial purposes. The Leisure segment consists of hoteliering. The Oils and Fats segment manufactures, marketing, and selling of refined oils and specialty fats to the bakery, chocolate and confectionery, ice creams and creamer industries, and cooking oil products to end consumers. The Management Services segment refers to support services to the group companies. The company was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
